This is actually part of an assignment for my Humanities class.
What we had to do was go to this site called "Learning to Love You More." http://www.learningtoloveyoumore.com The site currently has 70 different activities involving art in some way. What my class had to do was check out the site and choose one assignment. I chose #32 which was to draw a scene from a movie that made me cry and make a PowerPoint presentation answering four questions my teacher provided for us. After talking to my teacher that the scene I wanted to do was from an animated TV show instead of a movie, she let me do it. Obviously, it was the ending of Sonic X episode 77.
The scene still brings a wave of sadness over me even nearly three years after seeing Cosmo's loss. Back on April 29, 2006, the day the show aired in the US, I remember crying, screaming, cursing, and even refusing to let my mother calm me down. It shows how strong of bond I have with the characters of the Sonic series, but I never knew how much I loved Cosmo until after she died.
As for the weather outside my house on 04/29/2006, it was just plain horrible. My father and younger brother were having an outing with the Boy Scouts in Galena, Illinois, where they left for their camp in Iowa the day before. I couldn't go because I had Driver's Ed that day. While they were in Galena, rain started to come down. By the time the troop came back to their campsite in Iowa, the weather got so violent that it tore a hole in my father's tent, rendering it useless. Although I was safe from the storm in my own Chicago home, I felt Cosmo's loss was the reason why the weather was so violent.
