this was a request i did for LordessAnnara14. she wanted me to draw these two hugging and smiling while faceing the camera
(say cheese)^_^
this pic was difficult to do because i havent had as much practice drawing kagome as i do with inuyasha.
kagome's face and hand gave me the most problems. i'm glad though that the hands didnt come out looking deformed.
all in all i think this came out rather well, considering the fact that i didnt have a reference.
comments please!

This looks really good! Especially for not having reference. ^v^ But I'll do my best to give you a good critique. Well, first off, you did an excellent job with the highlights in the hair, very well done. InuYasha's Kimono could have more flow to it, it seems a bit rigid, & I would give just a little bit of color & shading to it overall to suggest it being red. Just so long as it isn't darker than the green in Kagome's outfit. I just checked it out & green is darker than the red when you're doing grayscale. ^v^ (I needed to know that too. I'm glad I had to check it out for you ^v^). The last thing I might suggest to improve your style is to try & add more character to the lines. What I mean is, try to have as few straight lines as possible (unless of course it has to be, like with the sheath, sword etc. ). It makes it more interesting. If you can add a little wavey when you're doing InuYasha's Kimono or hair, add it! ^v^ It's little imperfections that add character to your work. It makes it feel more alive. The same with drawing faces & hands, that's the hard part: trying to add character without making them look funny. 0.o You've mastered basic shapes & proportions, & that's wonderful. ^v^ So this would be the next step. The beauty of it is, there is no wrong way to add character. It's up to you & your imagination. keep it up! You're doing awesome! ^v^

thanks so much!
that really means a lot.
i didnt know that green was darker than red when doing grayscale, but it makes sense. and i was afraid of making inuyasha's kimono look odd if i did anything else with that sleeve. i suppose its because this was only the 2nd time ive drawn inuyasha w/o a reference and the first for kagome. (i was unsure how to shade the sleeve too.) i'll be doing more pics w/o a reference to get in more practice. i dont do very well when it comes to folds in clothes, so i was sorta playing it safe. i spent most of the time erasing and redrawing kagome's face and hand, i still think kagome's face looks bigger than inuyasha's, (it was only by luck that inuyasha's hand came out good the first time)
so yeah i'll try doing more waves in the hair and clothes like you mentioned, thank you!
